WISHES by DKZ                                     I'd like to be able to promise you                                     That I'll make it through the day.                                     I'd like to be able to honestly say for once                                     That everything inside me is really okay.                                     I'd like to be able to believe at last                                     That tomorrow will be a brighter day.                                     I'd like to find a way to finally live                                     In a very normal way -in a very happy way.                                     I'd like to be able to see the time                                     When my existence could become living.                                     I'd like to be able to see the day                                     When I can return the love I've been receiving.                                     I'd like to be able to one day believe                                     That I'm capable of more than just dreaming.                                     I'd like to be able to forgive and forget                                     And give my life a new beginning.                                     But I have a long road ahead of me                                     Before I can actually be free.                                     Courage and strength are still a part of me                                     Regardless of what they tried to dictate I'd be.                                     Veterans of similar wars offer me support and hope                                     By their sharing and helping me see how to better cope.                                     I know now that what I'd like to promise will be                                     Not just a wish, but in time a reality.
