LONELY LITTLE CHILD
by Linda S.

A lonely little child lurks deep within my soul.
Searching and searching for a window or a hole
hoping somehow, someway, someone will finally see me

They see the sorrow they'll see the shame they'll see the tears falling
they'll see the guilt they'll see the pain, they'll hear the child calling.
The child refuses to be heard and the reasons are:

She's afraid so scared to let her feelings be known
Afraid of getting yet another scar,
to find her pain and sorrow has only grown.

A bottomless pit filled with such emotional need,
a need the child knows will never go away.
She keeps reaching and reaching to somehow succeed,
To grasp an understanding hand who will help her break out someday.
