The CanDID Kidz are a name we have lovingly given to our DID kidz, the very special inner children and parts of us. We call them CanDID because they have shown with great strength and courage that they CAN and DID survive various types of traumas throughout their young lives. They are honest and candid, when they feel safe enough to express themselves, and each, in their own ways, are special kidz and parts of us. They remind us all that all children should be seen, heard, believed, and nurtured with great love and care. They also often remind us, in the middle of our busy and chaotic lives, just how precious and enjoyable life can be if only we would take the time to relax and find some joy in it. Their desire for fun and play is often something that gets lost and/or forgotten in our adult lives. While this page is designed by and for kidz, individuals of all ages can learn and find some enjoyment in it.
Hi! I am Misty. Welcome to our Funland. I am 7 and part of an internal system of a person with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder). I think DID is kind of a funny name for us because we are DID because of what other people did to us and not anything bad that we did. I like to play and have fun and I hope you have fun on our page. Some of these links I picked out myself and some my friends sent to me. It's always nice to share fun things to do with other kidz online. You can also talk to me and other kidz like us in the Kidz Korner of the NEEDID Support Network Discussion Forum. Some of my favorite games to play online are The Flying Cow, Hangman Word Game, and Fun Games Online, a site that has many games you can play online. I also enjoy doing art projects sometimes, and doing them online is fun because there is no mess to clean up afterwards. Some places for art that I enjoy are The Kaleidoscope Painter, Coloring.Com, Sand Art, and the Apple Corps, which is like Mr. Potato Head, but with apples and different vegetables. I like to send my online friends cards, and two of my favorite sites to send free cards from are BLUE MOUNTAIN ARTS' ELECTRONIC CARDS, and FREE GARFIELD E-CARDS.
I am interested in nature and animals a lot, and two of my favorite sites to both play and learn about those things are the Kids National Geographic, and the National Wildlife Federation Kids Page. Reading stories can be fun too. Sometimes you can read to learn, and sometimes just for fun, and sometimes you learn while you are having fun. Here are some stories I like. The Secret of the Silver Horse teaches children that secrets about sexual abuse should be told and not kept secret. It also shows the difference between a good secret and a secret about sexual abuse, as well as between good touching and sexually abusive touching. Other websites that I think are fun are:
The Hunger Site, where by just clicking on a button on the site, you can donate food for free to hungry people in the world, The Rainforest Site, where you can donate land for free just like on the Hunger Site, and a site where you can donate towards helping plant trees. All are simple ways for you and I to help make the world a better place. Parriet's Pooh Place has lots of neat Pooh graphics, including some of the ones used on this page. Winnie the Pooh: An Expotition contains an adventure with Pooh and friends, coloring pages, and Pooh pictures and poems submitted by readers. NICK JR. is a place to play with Blue's Clues, Little Bear, and more. I like my stuffed toys a whole lot, especially my mouse Rudi. Rudi makes me feel strong and brave when I am alone or scared. Like The Velveteen Rabbit, my Rudi is Real. The CanDID Kidz Funland has received some awards that you can see by going to the CanDID Kidz Funland Awards Page.
